Usually I’m a bit of a grinch when it comes to the holiday season, but this year I’m taking a slightly different approach to Christmas. Although I will not exchange presents, sing carols, or wear hideous reindeer themed sweaters, I will get into the spirit.
This December I will spend Christmas with my family in Memphis, but come Christmas morning we will get up early, pass the empty stockings and head out the door. We’ll spend the day volunteering for Meals on Wheels. And we’re doing it because we think that a family road-trip spreading Christmas cheer is a lot more fun than staring at each other and missing the family members that are no longer with us. Food, family, and fun. That’s all I need for Christmas.
