This morning while I was happily drawing cupcakes and bananas, Professor Fox popped up on a pile of sketches and sighed loudly. Professor Fox and Laura Terry

When I failed to notice him, the Professor raised a hand to his forehead and loudly wailed “Oh, WHAT a CREUL world!” Then he stomped his tiny feet and cried, “WHYYYYYY MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” Finally, having completed the drawing of a delicious looking broccoli floret, I exclaimed “Oh, Professor Fox, I didn’t know you were here. What a surprise.”

Professor Fox and Laura TerryProfessor Fox lamented that he’d been feeling rather blue lately. He’s discouraged by all his bad habits and the toll they take on his life, saying “Why, think of all the things I could have accomplished if I didn’t spend so much time watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey. What am I doing with my life?”

After several minutes of sighing and further hand-wringing, Professor Fox listened as I told him about a book I just read,  The Power of Habit, about how our brains create patterns of behavior and how we can decide to change those patterns for our own good.Professor Fox and Laura TerryProfessor Fox was skeptical of any book that had the taint of self-help, but after bribes and treats, he broke down and read the first half of the third chapter.
Professor Fox and Laura TerryArmed with very little information, Professor Fox felt empowered and ready to do the hard work necessary to change his life and be a better Fox! With clear eyes and a firm hand, the professor sat down, took a clear look at all the bad habits that plague his life, and made a list of New Year’s resolutions. Topping the list, no more watching Real Housewives.
Professor Fox and Laura Terry Full of purpose, Professor Fox marches boldly out of large rut he’s been in and into a better brighter future. Not only is he giving up watching reality TV, but he’s also going to shed the few extra pounds he’s put on since last year.  With his head held high, Professor Fox sits down and turns on The Biggest Looser.
