In preparation for the redesign of my website, I went on an epic quest for new branding. Every brand needs a good mascot. I knew I needed something playful, wily, with a bit of menace, and a bit of danciness especially since I draw so many dance parties.
It didn’t take long for Prof. Fritz Fox to raise his hand and volunteer for the job.
After doing a little sketching and brainstorming, I filled out a logo design questionnaire to make certain that the new branding met my needs as a business, in addition to being fun and generally awesome.
With all of that work behind me I had a better idea of exactly what I was looking for in my branding, which my friend Tak characterized as “a lil’ bit of eros mixed with thanatos (in Freudian theory, the death instinct); evoking a gentle pathos/bathos.”
