Here are a few more illustrations that I did for Slate’s book review!

This is a sketch that I made for Robin Sloan’s novel, Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore, about a bookstore clerk who discovers a mystery right under his nose.

This blue image first is my original sketch, which doesn’t differ too drastically from the final except in color palette. While making sketches I decided to use a yellow/red palette for the series.

And below is the illustration forĀ ‘s review, Stop Asking if Women are Funny. I dedicate this one to last week’s episode of 30 Rock and Tina Fey. I strap on my lady-pants and salute you – funny women – everywhere!

I’ve been happily drawing away on a series of illustrations forĀ Slate Magazine’s Book Reviews. I’ve illustrated everything from pet death, the etymology of the word asshole, and evil attack pumpkins. Here’s the logo I redesigned. Where books are taking matters into their own hands.

Also, just so you know there is a subliminal dirty joke! I suppose this is the kind of thing that make illustration gigs SO MUCH FUN!

Also here is an illustration for a great article about “recreativity”. Is originality a myth?
